Physical Therapy: What It Is, Indications and Treatment Methods
Physical therapy is a branch of medicine that uses natural and physical agents, such as electrical current, ultrasound, laser, heat and movement, to reduce pain, resolve inflammation and restore mobility. The goal is to help the body recover without medication and without surgery, through a carefully dosed program tailored to each patient's condition. At Dynamic Fizio, our approach begins with a clinical examination, and only then do we determine the procedures that will truly support your recovery.

When physical therapy is used
Physical medicine covers a wide range of conditions. It is most often used for back and neck pain, herniated disc and sciatica, as well as for joint conditions such as osteoarthritis of the knee, hip and shoulder. It also helps with sports injuries, strains, sprains and post-fracture conditions, when the cast has been removed and strength and range of motion need to be restored.
Rehabilitation is also an important part of recovery after surgery, for example after a hip or knee replacement, spinal surgery or ligament reconstruction. Physiotherapy is also used for problems caused by prolonged sitting, poor posture and repetitive strain, which are increasingly common reasons for seeking an examination.
Methods and procedures
The program consists of two parts: instrument-based therapy and kinesitherapy, that is, treatment through movement. Among the instrument procedures, the most commonly used are laser therapy, ultrasound, electrotherapy (TENS and interferential currents), magnetic therapy and heat therapy. These methods reduce pain and inflammation, improve circulation and speed up tissue healing.
Kinesitherapy includes stretching, strengthening and stabilization exercises that the physiotherapist demonstrates and supervises, along with manual techniques for muscle relaxation and joint mobilization. The combination of instrument-based therapy and active exercise gives the best and most lasting results, because it removes not only the symptom but also the cause of the problem.
The course of therapy at Dynamic Fizio
Every treatment begins with a conversation about your symptoms and a functional examination, on the basis of which an individual plan is created. Therapy is usually carried out in series, several times a week, and the number of visits depends on the diagnosis and the progress monitored at follow-ups. The clinic is located at Dunavska 62 in Dorcol, Belgrade, which is easily accessible to patients from the city center.
