Recovery of Stefan Lazarevic, Red Star Basketball Player

Shoulder tendinitis recovery brought our well-known Red Star basketball player, Stefan Lazarevic, back to the court after he suffered shoulder tendon inflammation. With a few sessions of electrotherapy combined with ultrasound and laser, we resolved the problem and sped up his return to play.

What is shoulder tendinitis?

Stefan Lazarevic had shoulder tendon inflammation, also known as shoulder tendinitis. It is a very common injury and occurs in athletes and people who are highly physically active. It is a condition in which the tendons connecting the shoulder muscles to the bones become irritated, swollen or inflamed. This type of inflammation is often the result of repetitive movements or injuries, and it can cause discomfort and limit mobility.

Reasons why shoulder tendinitis occurs:

  • Repetitive movements:

Athletes, especially those who play sports that require repetitive arm movements or shoulder loading, such as tennis, baseball, or shot put, are at greater risk of developing tendinitis.

  • Overload:

Intense training, prolonged training, or a rapid change in exercise intensity can lead to overloading of the tendons.

  • Poor execution technique:

Improper technique when performing certain movements or sports activities can place additional pressure on the shoulder tendons, increasing the risk of inflammation.

  • Lack of warm-up and stretching:

A lack of adequate warm-up before sports activities or a lack of regular stretching can increase the stiffness of muscles and tendons, which raises the risk of injury, including shoulder tendinitis.

  • Overtraining:

That is, exposure to excessive load without sufficient time for recovery can increase the risk of tendon inflammation, including in the shoulder.
